Here He Is!

Sorry to anyone checkin this thing for news. Hopefully you all have heard by now bc tomorrow is 4 weeks!!!! And Sunday is a month!!! Our sweet baby boy is here!!! He made his grand entrance at 6:44pm Sept. 11, 2009(could he choose any other day!).

Nixon Trenton came 5 days before his due date and surprised a sad mommy. (I was hoping he would come Sept 9th bc it would be an awesome bday and bc I had a feeling that he would come. ) On the 9th I had my 39wk appt and nothing had changed from the week before. So she scrapped membranes and said she was at the hospital delivering the next day and to come see her. Well the 10th came and went with no baby. Some contractions but no regularity or pain. Needless to say I was depressed, so I stayed at work and just distracted myself. I got everything done. Little did I know this was my nesting surge. That night was like any other. Took a shower, ate dinner, watched some tv, dreaded finding something to wear the next day (bc I was so big), read some and fell asleep. THEN at around 4:55 I woke up with some pain. Then it went away. 3 mins later it came back. I got up and drank 2 full glasses of H20 and walked around. Pain was still coming 3 mins apart. There was no way this was real is what kept rolling through my head. I googled contractions and I seemed to be having them. So I called the sister who is a nurse. She said to go to triage. It was now 6:30 still 3mins apart. So I finally woke up Dallas who had to get up for work anyway and said that I think we are having a baby. I called into work and then Dallas and I debated him going to work. ( I still didnt think it was real). As we were talking I cried through one painful contraction and he said k im staying home. He then sat and timed my contractions while I did my make up ( i know very vain and very funny, what else was i going to do?). After an hour of contractions 2 to 3 mins apart he said ok i think we need to go. It was now 8am. So I called triage described my symptoms and they said uh yeah you need to come in. So I ate some cereal, packed up and we headed to the hospital(still 2 mins apart. for those who dont know thats pretty bad). They checked us in at triage at 9:30 and monitored me and let me sit there forever!!! I was hot and hurting by then. But they did have plans to admit me, my doc was just in emergency surgery. So at about 11am I was admitted. I continued to contract until 3pm. (ugh) Then after a walk and an exercise ball(bad choice, made it worse) I decided to finally get the epidural. Oh my I love love love epidurals!!!! It was the best thing EVER! I was so warm and toasty and couldnt feel a thing!!!  After the epi I progressed fast and painlessly and at 6:15pm we started pushing. (It was so weird bc I felt great!) We pushed for 30 mins and tada!! He was out!! Amazing! He was 7lbs 5oz, 20 3/4in, long and skinny with big hands and feet.(basketball player:)) It was funny how easy it was, I was very lucky:)

Afterwards Mr. grunty Nixon visited the NICU with Daddy and Auntie Jess(who was working up there that day) to get his lungs cleared. Meanwhile I visited with the fam. Nixon had to be monitored for a bit so I had some dinner got cleaned up and to my big room(I had an awesome hook up) and in wheeled my baby boy with Daddy and Auntie!!! It was precious to say the least!

We spent the next 2 days at the hospital and on sunday took home a perfect baby boy. Over this past month life has changed drastically (partly due to my hormones:)) My little man is getting big and is very strong!!! He has his days and nights flip flopped(so mom tired some dark eyes)  but besides that he is perfect.  We are learning a lot. Can't wait for everyone to meet him!!
