To Clear Things Up

So, cranky pants Dallas doesn't really like what our blog says about "his boy" so I need to clear it up. I am a story teller. I like to fully immerse my readers or listeners in the story. I like detail. So I told everyone the full detail of our ultra sound experience. Its more fun that way don't you agree? Soooo Like i said in the previous entry we needed to go back into the doc's to get another ultra sound to measure some more, but this time we got to go to a really good ultra sound place! out in north Scottsdale(I've decided we are going to live there someday if I cant live in San Diego or Hawaii) So at this appt. I definitely ate 2 iced cookies and drank a bottle of orange juice before we went, on the way. When baby was put on camera HE was a movin! He even flipped over for us and gave us shameless pics of his manhood. His dad was proud. They tech got very nice pictures of everything she needed to see. The 4 chambers of his poundin heart, and all the valves and their functions. She got a view and placement of his tummy(which was positioned just right) and his kidneys and bladder(much bigger than mom's) She also got a great view of his long spinal column. No wrongs to be seen. We were impressed and relieved.

Sooooooo... He IS a boy! Nixon Trenton. And he is doin so good! Oh and he is long! So dreams of a little basketball player are coming true for Dallas. He is also 9oz. and right on target with my due date. So everything is just great! Its just all so weird and amazing. I don't quite feel ready to be a mom, but I know it will be here before I know it. :)

We have a winner...we are pretty sure:)

Thursday, Dallas and I got to make our way to Ahwatukee to see if we could see what our little nugget would be. Girl or boy. I have had an inkling from the beginning that it was a boy, but toward the end I really didnt know. (either way we would be soooo happy). Well we finally entered the ultra sound room after 2 bathroom trips at the doctors office and then a third right before the gel and camera. I drank lots of cold water because I heard thats what you are supposed to do. So then gel is on and camera is rolling and our little one was just chillin. Not doing a thing but flippin a hand on top of his belly. It wasnt looking good. I think the bean burrito I picked up for lunch put him to sleep. So the tech gave me a lolly pop and the sugar got him goin a bit. Still though he was pretty tucked up and cushy. His arms up by his head and on his belly and his legs crossed indian style and tucked up against his belly. I tried gining him a poke but he was not budging. But finally for just a split second he loosened his tight hold just enough for the tech to catch a shot of his man-ness. Very cute:) She continued to try and get him to move but baby boy was stubborn. Soooo we are pretty darn sure but to be safe we get to go back in (no charge to us) on May 1st to get another look, a good money shot, and some more measurements. This time I will eat a cookie and drink some oj on the way.

SOOOOOOO check back in with us, because who knows it could be a girl, but mommas know you know and Im pretty sure its our little Nixon:) if not..., sorry baby girl:)

p.s if anyone can teach me how to upload pics and videos on here that would be great. I have tried, but computers hate me. Its amazing I have been able to do this much!!:)

A Very Magical Sound
Today I got to here the best sound ever!
A heart beat!
I am 16 weeks now and pokin out ever so slightly, though not at night. Im huge right now. I have to wear Dallas' shirts because everything else is to tight or just looks nasty!
So i know some of you are thinking that this is way late to here the heart beat for the first time, but it was worth the wait. The deal was my awesome Dr. that I saw at 12 weeks was generous and gave us an unscheduled and uncharged ultra sound. The very first thing we saw on the screen was our tiny baby's heart pounding away. Then we saw limbs flailing and the body moving around. It was amazing and a bit unbelievable. But it was well worth the swap for hearing the heart beat. Thanks Dr. Wilson. (i highly recommend him to anyone who is looking).
SOOOO anyway, thats our story so far. Our milestones if you will.
Next up are flutters, jabs, and finding out if this is a tough boy or a fiesty girl. We will let you all know!
