Happy Thanksgiving
For Thanksgiving this year Dallas and I split our time as usual. We started our day with 2 turkey bowls for Dallas and a great workout for Jenn. Out of the ordinary though, I (Jenn) had to actually cook! I think this is the first Thanksgiving I was asked to make something. I am 25 though so I guess I have to start sometime. Everything turned out great. After our morning Dallas and I went to Nana and Papa's place for our first Thanksgiving meal with is mom's side. Everything was really good. especially his moms sweet potatoes. They were made with extra love and boy did we love her for that. After the meal i helped clean up and chatted with the family while dallas took a nap. The turkey kicked in really quick. After Dallas woke up we said our goodbyes and made our way over to see my family and to eat our second meal. Ugh!

Twilight
Well Friday is the day!!! Twilight is out and I can't wait! It took me long enough to get into the books and after I read The Host, I though ok why not. So I began reading figuring I would loose interest, but much to my surprise I loved them and quickly devoured all 4 books and I am currently reading Midnight Sun online. I have become such a fan that for my classes themed scarecrow for the school fall festival we did a Twilight theme and dressed our scarecrow as Edward. It was a labor of love;)So yes I can now be grouped with the tweeny group of girls and their mothers who will be lining up to watch Bella and Edward's story come to life on screen....it will never do my imagination justice:)

Pumpkin Hunting and New Happenings
Yay!! Its finally starting to get cold in AZ. Well at least in the mornings and late evenings. We'll take it
though. Its helping us get into the holiday spirit. Not that I (Jenn) need any help. I am watching The Grinch as I type this. And if you're wondering its the cartoon version, the best one:) Well as you can see we went pumpkin shopping the week of Halloween. Now why this is still relavant is because we ended up never having time to carve the pumpkin and it is still chillin on our doorstep all perfect. Well its only rotted a bit, on the back side. But its doing well and adds to our festive Thanksgiving decor. Besides holidays, we have been super d duper busy. Dallas has started up his own city of Mesa softball team the Softball Homers. He recruited some guys from church, some from highschool and some from work to play. So far they are pretty decent, but the one team that they played sucked hard core. Dallas is also playing on a work softball team for the city of Mesa. So thats right he is gone 2 nights a weeks ballin it up. Thats just fine with me. Except the first team, the team Dallas put together, I have to be team wife. Its not bad, just cold. Along with being team wife:) I am juggling quite the load between work and school. Being on the activities commitee, we are in the heat of the season. I just helped to wrap up the Halloween party which was a success and we have moved right on to the Christmas party. A Hawaiian Luau. Nice right:) The best of both worlds, kinda sorta. I am also now a den leader for the bears and every Thursday night we are creating and doing and trying not to hurt ourselves while signing of cubscout stuff. I dunno I've never done this before. At work, whew, I am shoulder deep in Student Council work. We just wrapped up a Fall Festival where we made $300 from a bake sale. Not shabby. I am also coordinating and running a canned food drive. Did i mention i am doing all this for only half the pay. Yeah. Sucks. Oh and did I mention the 24 kids that occupy my classroom and are my number one priority?? Yeah my head is spinnin to say the least. But somehow I am whippin it all out and getting it all done and still having time to spend with Dallas. Whew prayers answered yeah? Soooo... life is very busy and crazy to say the least but we are still oh so happy and lovin it all. Crazy is good right?? Well, thats my motto for now.

The Next F'n Trip
Oooooook... so here is trip number 2 of the summer of Dallas. This time Dallas' travels took him to the beautiful bay area of California. The F'n in the title of this entry regaurding this trip has 2 meanings. 1: Dallas left me home for a whole week, again. and 2: a very large purchase was made as a result of the trip. SO details. Dallas had the opportunity to spend some time with my fam.( dad, brother, and brother in law). The trip was out to Laguna Seca in Monterey, CA. The boys go every year and this year my Papaw had to drop out so Dal got the ticket, which is quite expensive. Sooo dallas spent a week taking in the Racing bike world and being "greenhorned" by my brothers. By the end of the week Dallas was sold. The testosterone filled world of MotoGP got to him and he wanted a bike. So here we are 3 months later and there is a bike sitting pretty outside in our parking space and a sparkly helmet decprating our breakfast bar. Hold on to your butts ladies and gentlemen dallas is out on the streets.

The F'n Back Packing Trip
Soooo... Over the summer Dallas took a few trips. This was the F'n back packing trip as he likes to call it. Dallas and his BFF Jake spent a week back packing through the rough and ragged terrain of northern Arizona. Strapped with about 60 pounds of gear they set out for their week of adventure. Dallas and Jake planned to hike a trail that would lead them through Chevlon Canyon and out to Woods Canyon Lake. Even though the trail was plot there was still a problem upon arrival...rock and LOTS of it. We're talking big boulders from canyon wall to canyon wall. Needless to say there were bumps, scrapes and bruises and even a night on a hard granite surface (the only area that was flat enough to sleep on). There were some pretty spots and lots and lots of green. But lets just say they were sooo done by the weeks end.

Graduation
May 22, 2008 The last little Holmes entered the "real world" kinda. Though we all know that the real world doesnt hit ya until many years down the road when we graduate from college, then its when we get married, then its when we have kids. Anyway she has progressed in some form into the world outside of high school. LIttle Alexis (not so little anymore) graduated and we were all there to celebrate. Even Langley and Dallas made an appearance seeing as how they are the newest additions. Alexis wore killer shoes that did in fact eat her feet alive. We couldn't find the car fast enough after the ceremony. We took pictures, in the Holmes fashion of course, all in our pose and showing our bright whites. We shmoozed for a bit among the sea of graduates families and friends and then headed back to Gilbert to go home and sleep. Alexis, who knows what she did and for that matter I dont really want to know. Happy graduation little sis. Someday you'll be as old(and cool) as I am.
